    Anju Bala Bio

    Anju Bala is an Indian politician who has been serving as a Member of Lok Sabha for the Misrikh constituency since 2014. She entered into politics in 2010 by electing Block Pramukh (president) of Mallawan. After three years, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the same year she was elected to the Lok Sabha. She is a postgraduate in Hindi and Sanskrit and her husband Krishna Kumar Singh is a former legislator in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

    Early life and Education

    Anju Bala was born on 6 September 1979 in Kathua, Jammu, and Kashmir. She is currently 42 years old as of 2021. Her father’s name is Ravinder Nath and her mother’s name was Trishala Devi. Both of her parents belong to the chamar caste.

    In 2007, she completed her post-graduate in Sanskrit from the University of Jammu and three years later, she obtained a degree in Hindi from Chatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University.

    Political Career

    During her college times, she participated in youth politics. Then in 2010, she was elected as Block Pramukh of Mallawan as her husband encouraged her to contest the block Pramukh and parliamentary elections.

    In 2013, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, and then in the 2014 general elections, she contested from Misrikh constituency. She won that election and on being elected she said that her priorities as an MP were to make herself available for the residents of a constituency to construct new roads and ensure a continuous supply of electricity.

    Then on 26 February 2018, she adopted a village named Tejipur village under a rural development program called Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. Before that, she had also adopted SihordwarShikoh and Islam Nagar villages.

    On 22nd March 2019, the party did not nominate her for the upcoming 2019 general election.

    She believes that violence against cows could be controlled by making them the national animal of India. In August 2017, she demanded this matter of action in Lok Sabha. Moreover, she also believes that inflation can be controlled by regulating the prices of Petroleum products.

    Personal life

    On 26 January 2008,  she married Krishna Kumar Singh and they have one son and one daughter. Her husband is from Uttar Pradesh and he represented Mallawan constituency in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly as a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party from 2002 to 2012.
