    Makkal Needhi Maiam Political Party

The Makkal Needhi Maiam (abbreviated MNM) is an Indian regional political party based in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. Kamal Haasan formed the party on February 21, 2018 in Madurai. In addition, he introduced the party’s flag. Six intertwined hands are depicted on the flag, symbolising cooperation amongst India’s southern states (5 States and 1 UT). A battery torchlight is their election emblem.

Makkal Needhi Maiam has also released a public-access mobile whistleblower app called ‘Maiam Whistle.’ At the moment, the party is projected to have roughly 5,500 office holders. R. Mahendran resigned from the party, claiming that it was run in a “undemocratic” way.

    2019 Lok Sabha Election

He announced his candidacy for 40 seats in the 2019 Indian general election, including 39 in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry. After the state Congress head hinted at it, there was talk that Kamal Haasan may join the Congress. A few days ago, the MNM formed an alliance with the lesser-known Republican Party of India.

At an event in Coimbatore, Mr Haasan released the party manifesto and the second list of candidates for his Makkal Needhi Maiam or MNM “All of the candidates have my face on them. Being the chariot puller makes me more proud than being in the chariot “.. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Makkal Needhi Maiam received 3.72 percent of the vote (in the seats it contested). Makkal Needhi Maiam received 1,613,708 votes in Tamil Nadu out of a total of 4,20,83,544 votes cast. J. Ebenezer, who stood for the Kanyakumari seat, received the fewest votes (8,590), while MNM vice-president Dr. R. Mahendran, who ran for the Coimbatore constituency, received the most votes (1,45,104). The party did well in metropolitan places like Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai, where it consistently polled between 8.5 percent and 12.5 percent of the vote and frequently received more than one lakh votes, but it did badly in rural areas. Despite this, all of the candidates’ deposits were forfeited.

Makkal Needhi Maiam candidates lost their deposits in all of the seats they ran for in the 2019 Indian general election, but they came third in many urban constituencies, trailing the Naam Tamilar Katchi in several rural constituencies and Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam in some constituencies, and trailing the DMK and AIADMK fronts in all constituencies.

    2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly Election

Haasan began MNM’s election campaign for the 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election on December 13, 2020, with candidates running in 142 assembly constituencies and a promise not to join an alliance with either the DMK or the AIADMK. MNM did not gain any seats in the election, with Haasan losing by 1728 votes in the Coimbatore South Assembly constituency to BJP’s Vanathi Srinivasan.

The Right and the Left have defamed the entire political structure in their own unique and explicit ways all over the world; the Rightists by mirroring individualistic political thoughts, and the Leftists by faulty individual actions that brought the political system – or lack thereof – crashing down. Between these two extremes, ‘Politics for the People’ took a backseat and deteriorated in quality, eventually becoming completely useless.

Because of the lack of openness, the worrisome growth in corruption, our politicians’ inefficient disposition, and their “norm” of under-the-table transactions to execute their fundamental tasks, the word “progress” has lost any meaning. Progress, like a bad debt that has been rewritten, has a lower chance of being redeemed. These boundaries needed to be broken down. Mr. Kamalhaasan wore the robe of change when the necessity for a new philosophy arose, and at this time, only Mr. Kamalhaasan is capable of bringing about a legitimate and progressive shift in the political dynamics.

The foundational principles of Makkal Needhi Maiam are a modest collection of visionary ideas. Makkal Needhi Maiam’s main goal is to lead the people of our country to a higher social and economic status. This is the party’s single goal.

MNM investigates the concerns of the people from neither a leftist nor a rightist stance. The goal is to pinpoint the source of the problems and propose workable remedies that eliminate all of the people’s problems. A government for the people is fundamentally a government run by the people; a government that takes pleasure in its citizens’ active participation. Tamil Nadu’s future should be an ideal state’ in which the people’s wants and rights are protected from all sides.
