Bees Saal Baad Movie is a psychological thriller film from India, released in Hindi in 1962. The film is a loose remake of the Bengali smash thriller Jighansa (1951), which was largely based on Hemendra Kumar Roy’s novel Nishithini Bivishika and was based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles.
The picture was a “great smash” when it topped the box office charts in 1962. The song “Kahin Deep Jale,” sung by Lata Mangeshkar and composed by Shakeel Badayuni for the film, became highly popular.

Bees Saal Baad: The Movie Plot
After a lustful Thakur in Chandanghat rapes a young girl, she commits suicide. The Thakur is then killed by what the locals refer to as the girl’s furious spirit.
The Thakur’s son is then said to have been slain by the same demon. Kumar, the Thakur’s grandson, arrives in the hamlet twenty years after his grandfather’s death and is warned by the residents that the spirit will murder him as well, and he does not trust them.
The first night, he hears the singing voice of the alleged spirit from the swamp. When he wakes up the next day, he learns of Radha, a carefree girl who is the niece of an elderly man named Ramlal.
On the second night, the singing continues, but Kumar has been unable to identify the female who is performing the song. He realizes that there is a light source on the terrace of his residence.
The next day, Kumar discovers that his coat is missing. Radha receives word that Kumar has been killed. Radha isn’t convinced and dashes into the woods, where Kumar appears in front of her.
He claims that another man dressed in his costume was the one who was slain. He was assassinated in the swamp, under the same tree that murdered his father and grandpa.
Later that night, Kumar notices Laxman, his servant, arguing with a female. According to Laxman, the person who was under the tree was his sister’s husband.
Every day from the balcony, he showed him light, and Laxman had thieved the coat as well as given it to him. Radha recommends he leave because the spirit killed someone wearing his coat. Kumar is not one of them.
Ramlal stops Radha from meeting Kumar, claiming that she would be slain as well. Meanwhile, Kumar tries to discover who is behind all of this.
When Ramlal notices Radha’s sadness, he advises her to phone Kumar and meet him near the marsh. Kumar is taken to the marsh, where the spirit attempts to kill him, but he manages to flee.
Radha discovers that the person posing as the girl’s ghost is none other than her uncle Ramlal.
Ramlal’s daughter had been raped by Thakur, so he murdered Thakur, his son, and was now attempting to murder his grandson. Ramlal is persuaded to surrender by the police. Kumar and Radha are reunited, and the story has a happy ending.
Our Review of “Bees Saal Baad”
This black-and-white film is technically excellent. The filmmaker has succeeded in establishing a suspenseful environment in the film through the use of light and sound effects rather than the screenplay.
The scenes depicted in a semi-dark environment are quite amazing. Because excessive material was provided to the protagonist of Gopichand Jasoos and his activities, the film’s length could have been reduced significantly. He causes more irritation than laughter.
